Description

Kelly Delaney is a brilliant young software designer. Her boss, Dr Brinkley, convinces her that as he's dying of cancer he needs a human super computer to find a cure. So Kelly helps in the creation of a perfect virtual world and then lures people with appropriate knowledge to the laboratory. The subjects are under the impression they are testing the system, but they are hooked in to the virtual world and Dr Brinkley uses their minds in his research. Robert, an old friend of Kelly's also ends up being linked to the computer, and when the system malfunctions and he becomes trapped, Kelly decides to go in and bring him out. But once inside, she finds herself in a world where women are treated like children. Not only is she spanked by the cops, she is also spanked by Robert who thinks he is her husband and that they live a Daddy/little girl relationship. Together, Robert and Kelly strive to find a way out.

When they return to reality, Kelly and Robert continue their relationship. As Kelly was a precocious child, she grew up quickly without anyone to really care for her. But now she has Robert to pamper her like a little girl and discipline her for her wrongdoings, she is truly content with her life for the first time.

The plot is basically a sort of Star Trek Holodeck malfunction story but instead of being trapped in a simulation where you can get killed its one where you can be turned into a little girl for a sitcom panty warming. The use of simulations of Hollywood actors as NPC's makes it easy to visualize, There's interesting puzzles and mysteries to solve and a mad scientist villain to stop who's obviously got some Freudian issues with women. I could see this fascinating artificial world he created being useful in psychotherapy and various types of conflict resolution games to explore the potential benefits and problems of various ideas before trying trying them out in real life as well as a form of stress relief for people who have a desire to return to the simpler life of childhood. It might also be useful for dealing with criminals by teaching them to have more empathy with their victims. I would definitely want to buy any sequels to this story.
