Touching Pitch: Diane and Claire are best friends in the sixth form. Walking home from school one day, Diane smokes a cigarette even though she is in school uniform. Claire doesn't smoke, but her heart sinks as a teacher drives by. The next morning both girls are called to the office of the headmistress, who gives Diane eight ferocious swipes of the cane. To Claire's horror, she gets caned too - four painful strokes over her knickers.

Lying to the Headmistress: Janice is lazy and puts little effort into her school project, resulting in herself along with three other girls being sent to Mrs Bailey, the headmistress. Three of the girls, Janice included, are slippered and one is caned. Unfortunately for Janice she too is caned by Mrs Bailey at a later date after being caught out in a lie - but the headmistress realises it was Janice's mum who started the lie and summons her to school for a meeting and some corrective action...

The Plot That Failed: Lynda Saunders talks her best friend Tina Collier into accepting a hand-caning in her place, offering her some money in return. Tina agrees, and the caning goes ahead; it is very painful, but what's worse is that their deception is discovered. The headmistress gets involved, and the penalty is far more severe, particularly for Tina!

An Incident at the Museum: Heather and Dawn misbehave on a school trip to the museum, by climbing onto the valuable statues and being rowdy. An irate attendant takes them back to their schoolteacher, Miss Hanley, who failed to control all the class, not just Heather and Dawn. The next day, Heather and Dawn find themselves in front of Mrs Jefferson, who makes an example of them by delivering a hard caning. But Head Girl Marilyn is not happy about the situation and has a quiet word with Mrs Jefferson, and there are further painful consequences to be faced as a result!

Representing the School: Julia is so engrossed in her book as she reads on the bus on her way to school, she fails to give up her seat to a pregnant lady - and also fails to see the headmistress on the same bus. She is called to the headmistress after school, where she is subjected to four venomous strokes of the cane for bringing the school into disrepute.
