Chrissie has spent most of her life in a children's home, and when cast out at sixteen to survive on her own, she struggles. At 22 years of age, she finds life hard, lonely and tedious. Crying on a park bench, she pours her heart out to a stranger, a woman who is to change her life in a positive way. Nanny Castle takes Chrissie home, and like a fairy godmother, starts to make wonderful things happen. Undernourished and petite, Chrissie easily fits into clothes made for a 14-year-old, and as time goes on, encouraged by Nanny, she begins to act like a girl of that age. Life with Nanny is tremendous. Chrissie feels loved and cared for, even though she quickly discovers Nanny stands for no nonsense, and dispenses spankings regularly. Living with Nanny means accepting and abiding by Nanny's rules, and when those rules are broken, Chrissie has a sore bottom... a frequent occurrence, particularly when she gets up to mischief with her new school friends. Laced with dashes of humour and schoolgirl pranks, Pet Jeffery has created another convincing character who is able to break free from adult responsibilities and re-experience her teenage years in a loving environment.
