Gwen's life is turned upside down following the unexpected death of her parents, aunt and uncle in a car crash. Abandoning her first teaching post, the 22-year-old takes charge of the funeral arrangements, and gains custody of her younger sister, Karen. Another shock follows, for it transpires that Gwen and Karen now have a massive inheritance, including a house in Rosemary Park, left to them by their aunt and uncle.
