The year is 1969, and 23-year-old Leah finds herself ensconced as a pupil at St Elphin's, instead of a teacher. It transpires that there is more to the mistake than meets the eye, as Leah's age is being deliberately regressed by school officials. But for Leah, this is an epiphany. For the first time in her life she experiences a sense of belonging and camaraderie as she settles slowly into school life, with the mindset of a schoolgirl. There are midnight feasts and mischief, friendships forged, and whackings galore. For someone who has never previously been spanked, Leah experiences several sound spankings including the cane on her bare bottom, and learns to take her punishments like a true St Elphin's girl. She does seize the opportunity to remind the powers that be of her true age, but when she eventually learns of the reason for her regression, she slips not only into a full acceptance of her schoolgirl status, but embraces it wholeheartedly.
