Greystones Boarding School is a place which cultivates a camaraderie amongst the students rooted in a shared experience... notably being on the receiving end of a hefty dose of corporal punishment! The paddle, slipper, strap, hairbrush and cane are put to good use at Greystones, and there is no shortage of naughty bottoms to feel the bite, sting and thud of such implements of correction. Some girls, it seems, have a real talent for getting into trouble...

BOOK 1 - MELANIE: The year is 1968, and Melanie Mason is being sent to Greystones Boarding School because her parents are concerned she is out of control and mixing with the wrong crowd - and her father thinks Melanie needs a dose of firm discipline. Melanie is not at all pleased to learn the school embraces corporal punishment... little does she know how soon she will find herself on the receiving end, bending over bare bottomed for a dose of the cane! But as she settles in and makes new friends, life in the Lower Sixth turns out to be much more fun than she imagined, though her rebellious nature fails to impress the formidable Headmistress, Miss Hurst. Slipper, strap, hairbrush and cane play their part in disciplining badly behaved girls in the whack-happy world of Greystones.

BOOK 2 - REBECCA: Sixth former Rebecca throws a hairbrush at a prefect and subsequently pays the price on her bare bottom, courtesy of Miss Atmore and her fearsome paddle. But school life isn't exclusively about getting whacked - it's also about having fun and forging firm friendships. Unfortunately for Rebecca, she and her friends are singled out for a public caning, administered by Miss Hurst, the stern Headmistress.

BOOK 3 - JULIE: The Spring Term of 1969 at Greystones Boarding School is one which Julie will remember as being ultra painful on her bottom. Julie and her two best friends, Natasha and Abigail, break up the dull routine of lessons and prep with their own particular brand of mischief and mayhem, managing to come unstuck when they are caught out by formidable members of the teaching staff. The corporal punishment regime at Greystones is geared to deal with troublemakers in the time honoured way: by hefty doses of paddle, strap or cane on naughty bare bottoms. As the three friends are participating in a wager to see which of them gets the most whacks, it seems they are fairly evenly matched. But some of the punishments are hard to take, including whacks for cheating on a cross-country run on a cold, wet afternoon. Still, it's fun to see the marks of their torment, courtesy of Natasha's Polaroid instant camera! This term represents a unique developmental phase in Julie's life; amongst the angst, jealousies and fears, and a continually sore bottom, emerges fun, loyalty, and enduring friendships. It's really not so bad being a Greystones girl...
