CANED AT THE MANOR: Bernadette and her friend Katrina work together as supervisors at a large supermarket. They are accepted on the management trainee programme on condition that they study to meet the academic requirements, and are delighted that a charity called St Saviours will fund their tuition. Consequently the two women, both in their twenties, find themselves going back to school to study A-levels. Amongst the paperwork is a consent form for corporal punishment - and it is not long before Bernadette fails to hand in homework assignments on time and experiences the feel of a cane on her bottom. School life continues and the girls do well, and to celebrate the end of exams, Bernadette, Katrina and two boys from the upper sixth go out to the pub one lunchtime to celebrate. Unfortunately, too much alcohol is consumed and the four create havoc. They are in big trouble and a furious headmaster decides to punish them with a public caning in front of the entire school.

POWDER BLUE PANTIES IN SINGAPORE: When Sarah notices an advertisement for cabin crew staff with Hong Tan Airlines, she decides to apply. She makes a favourable impression at interview but doesn't have the full academic qualifications required. However, the airline will sponsor her to attend school where she will undertake an intensive 12-week course - if she passes, the job is hers. At 24, Sarah finds herself amongst the oldest in the group of sixth form students studying English and Mathematics. Her behaviour in class however is not so mature, and it is not long before she is subject to corporal punishment and experiences her first taste of the cane. Suitably motivated, she passes her exams and enjoys her job with the airline, but is later involved in an incident at work that leads to several passengers lodging complaints. If the airline implements formal disciplinary action it could result in dismissal - but there is an alternative available - it involves the four staff members being disciplined by a local school headmaster ... and his fearsome cane.

COMPANY RULES: Laura was well aware of the strict disciplinary code in place at the advertising agency firm where she worked as a Senior Account Manager. Acts of general misconduct were recognised with demerit marks, and once ten had been accumulated within a 6- month period, the employee had the option of paying a significant fine or submitting to an alternative punishment, that of a caning. Having amassed ten demerits, Laura is faced with a very difficult decision. Her husband suggests paying the fine but instead Laura decides to accept ten painful strokes of the cane and the accompanying humiliation.

Five years later, Laura faces further disciplinary action after a colleague under her authority makes a serious error on a prestigious account. Confronted with an impossible fine, Laura manages to persuade the Board to allow her to receive the cane once again instead. They agree, but increase the demerits penalty, so that Laura must now receive sixteen strokes, to be delivered in two sessions of eight strokes each, given three days apart.
