Adlestrop Reformatory for Wayward Girls and Young Women is a grim, unfriendly place in which dozens of unfortunate young women serve out their sentence. Amongst them are Eileen, Melody, Linda and Alexandra. Like the other inmates, these four are completely subject to strict and rigid prison discipline, and utterly at the mercy of their warders. Inside this institution, ultimate correction is dispensed to recalcitrant reformatory girls by strap, tawse and cane.
