In this series of short stories set in a British girls' school, Lisa and her friend Karen just can't seem to keep out of trouble. Whether it's for throwing snowballs, being later for class, bunking off, being rude to the prefects, smoking, avoiding PE, using itching powder, or breaking the school rules in general, the end result is the same: corporal punishment from either the Headmistress or one of the other teachers. It seems that every few days the girls are bending over for a slippering with a well worn rubber-soled plimsoll, sometimes over their regulation school knickers but occasionally on the bare. And for serious offences, the cane is put to good use, and the girls' hands or bottoms feel the effects of the whippy rattan.
