During a slow stretch at the diner, Cassie had time to reflect on everything that had happened to her over the previous two months, and she realized just how much her life had changed. First there was the night she had left her parents' home in the middle of the night, followed by the freedom of being on the road all by herself. Then there was the desperation of being stranded in the middle of nowhere in North Dakota with no help in sight. Luckily, the handsome cowboy, Rick, had come into her life and had saved her both physically and emotionally. After finding someone to fix her car, he gave her a job at the diner he managed while he saved up enough money for a ranch of his own. Living at his grandparents' home on a temporary basis, he also invited her to stay there too, setting in motion a chain of events that had made her happier than she had ever been in her 19 years of life.
Rick was 26-years-old and had proved to a rock for Cassie in more ways than one. At over six feet tall he was physically imposing, with a chiseled muscular body built through years of hard work on his family's ranch. Although his tough exterior intimidated Cassie when they first met, Rick was actually a good-hearted man who came into her life at a chaotic time when she needed someone like him to help get her on the right path. That wasn't to say that he was a pushover, though; he expected Cassie to behave, and on a couple of occasions when she hadn't, she'd found herself over his lap for a sound spanking.
When Cassie thought of the times Rick had spanked her, she understood that she'd deserved anything she got and more, and she didn't resent him for what he had done. In fact, she'd felt so guilty about her misbehavior that she actually looked forward to the feeling of starting with a clean slate after her punishment was over. To her surprise, both she and Rick were so aroused after her second spanking that she had practically begged Rick to take her virginity, and he'd gladly accepted her invitation.
Originally, Cassie had planned to stay around only long enough to make money to pay for her car repairs, but once she and Rick became lovers, her desire to go back on the road quickly faded. When it was decided that Cassie would stay on after her car was fixed, Rick put her on notice that she still needed to behave or risk being put across his lap again. Cassie wasn't worried about the threat of future spankings since she trusted Rick and truly believed that he had her best interests at heart.
Things had gone smoothly in the month since she decided to stay, and Cassie had almost forgotten that there was a price to pay when she misbehaved. On the day that she got into an argument with the other waitress at the diner, Cassie received a painful reminder of what to expect whenever she slipped up.
