CINDERFELLA

by Rue Chapman

"It's a nightmare, that's what it is." Dave Jensen slid onto a barstool and sighed like a man with the weight of the world on his shoulders.

"Have a beer." Ben Carson had been best mates with Dave for many years. His cure for any difficult situation always began with a beer. Many difficult situations themselves also began with a beer, which was a nice balance as far as Ben was concerned. "What's the problem?"

"Women."

They drank in silence for a few moments, two men bonding together for support in the face of a cruel world full of those strange, mystical creatures that could bring delight, fury and frustration - often all at the same time.

"So, it's over then?"

"Yep."

They drank another beer to memorialise yet another lost relationship.

"I feel like that Prince What's-his-name." Dave was staring morosely at his empty glass.

"Oh come on now." Ben edged away a little. "You're not going to start playing for the other team, are you? There has to be a woman somewhere who's right for you."

Dave glanced up, "No, I'm not turning. I just feel like that Prince Cinderfella, or whatever his name was, you know, the one who kept trying some lost shoe on every woman he could find until he found the one who fitted. Maybe I should do that - pick a woman by the size of her feet."

Ben made friends with another beer, and nodded wisely, "Mate, I think you've got the wrong fairytale." He was an expert on this, as he had children of his own. At least, he was pretty sure he had children, there always seemed to be a lot of toys and noisy small people in his house, "It's not Cinderfella, it's Goldijocks, that's your story."

"What, you mean I need to find a blonde? I did. Remember Candi?"

Both men shuddered as they remembered Candi. Dave wanted a nice, attractive girlfriend, someone who was lively and fun. And Candi was certainly lively. She also liked to have fun, but not everyone enjoyed her sense of whimsy.

Dave shuddered again as he remembered the whining, the tantrums... He'd been looking for a real woman, not an overgrown child. He'd chosen her ad from the personals at a spanking site, she seemed wild and exciting. And, for a few weeks, she was. They'd discussed their special interest, they both loved spanking as part of their very active sex life.

Candi had talked about Domestic Discipline as well, about having a strong man who'd take charge. In fact, she'd insisted on it. But the first time he'd had to spank her for real discipline had been a total disaster. Dave shook his head, remembering. She'd been pushing for a while, doing silly things to get attention. Fond and foolish at the beginning of their relationship, Dave had made allowances.
