The Caning of Cadet Marcia Fenwick: Female cadets in the Merchant Navy were rare in the swinging sixties. In this story, Marcia faces dismissal after falling behind in her studies, and making the situation worse by being drunk and disorderly. Enquiring into alternative disciplinary measures, the 18-year-old agrees to a caning, to be carried out on the afterdeck. She is sent ashore in Cape Town to purchase a cane, and returns with a formidable senior cane. Her punishment is administered on deck by the ship's boatswain, and she receives twelve stinging strokes on her bare bottom.

The Accident: Peter, a deputy headmaster, has his car shunted by Carol on the way to school. Carol offers to pay for the damage, but when Peter finds she was driving without insurance, tax and whilst disqualified, he decides to teach her a lesson she won't ever forget. As an alternative to notifying the police, he gives her six cane strokes on the hand and a further six sizzlers on her bottom.

Caroline on the Auction Block: Caroline makes a grave error by borrowing money from clients' accounts at the law firm where she works. When she is found out, she is at risk of dismissal, but Mr Carter offers her an alternative. This involves being 'auctioned' to raise money to repay the debt, and suffering a severe dose of corporal punishment, 18 strokes in all, plus various humiliating sexual acts, to be negotiated with her 'buyers'.

Misbehaviour at Cranston College: Two couples have been summoned to the headmaster's office after the wives verbally abused the referee at their daughters' hockey match. The headmaster, Dr James Hilary, requires more than a simple apology and allows the 'upper crust' women, with their husbands' input, to determine the consequences of their behaviour. Reluctantly, they opt for a caning on their bottom, to be carried out in the headmaster's office.

Punishment at Work Revisited: Katie lives and works in Hong Kong for a firm that has recently abandoned its former policy of corporal punishment for employees whose work fails to meet the required standards. But with a new management structure in place, to the dismay of the staff the policy is reversed, and Katie in her new senior management role is asked to implement it in the workforce. She purchases a spanking machine, complete with canes and paddles. However, she makes one careless mistake too many and this results in her being one of the employees to experience the machine. To her shame, the humiliating and painful punishment is carried out in front of the workforce as an incentive for them to ensure they work efficiently.
