This story is set in a traditional boy's grammar school in the 1960s. When the school dinners are found to contain a huge amount of salt, rendering them inedible, the school's dinner ladies are summoned to a disciplinary hearing. Faced with a choice of formal disciplinary action, including the possibility of losing their jobs, the dinner ladies opt to accept the alternative course of action: six strokes of the cane over a thin pair of panties, administered by the Headmaster. Although a cause for concern to the ladies, it does liven things up in the bedroom, as the thought of their wives having their bottoms caned is quite a turn-on for their husbands. After all four dinner ladies receive their caning, the school governors decide that the option of corporal punishment should be available to any member of staff in lieu of disciplinary proceedings. Sometime later, the school secretary gets her first taste of the cane when she inadvertently causes embarrassment for the Headmaster.
