Description

When Rosalind Cole first sets eyes on the brooding cowboy in the battered hat, little does she know what fate has in store for her - for she is destined to travel the same path as William Adams and their lives are to become unequivocally linked. Against her sister's wishes, Rosalind sets out with other pioneers from Independence, Missouri - their destination, the lush Willamette Valley, Oregon, where each and every one of them will settle and make a better life.

The attraction between Rosalind and the wagon train captain deepens as the journey continues. He is enamoured with the independent, tempestuous and courageous beauty; she finds herself enthralled, not only by his looks, but his commanding presence, for he is a natural leader, a dominant, confident man who rapidly earns respect. Their courtship, although unconventional, blossoms, and the hardships they face on the Oregon Trail only strengthens the bond between them. But William's love for her doesn't prevent him from turning her over his lap for a spanking when she crosses the line - which she inevitably does, as the spirited Rosalind is not used to doing as she's told!

This period Western romance is a real treat. It is a tale of courage and adventure, love and adversity, portraying characters that are easy to connect with, and an engaging storyline.

Love and Bottoms Blossom On The Wagons West.

The gifted writer Abigail Armani and her book Love On The Oregon Trail puts the spotlight on a time in American History best expressed by two words, “Go West.”

This book review is jointly written with my husband who is a history buff. He told me that this book has accurate patterns of travel based on the weather, elements and grazing available for the oxen that pull the heavy covered wagons along the Oregon Trail. Plus, the book cover is spot on and prepares the reader for this extraordinary trail blazing tale.

Their pioneer spirit and the can do attitude of men, women and children who braved the uncertain journey by wagon train to a new land of promise and hope. The author has obviously done her research and given us not only a creative account of history, but an accurate one as well. For my husband and me both felt this was the hidden gem in the book. We feel the best reading experience is one we learn new facts because we both pride ourselves of being life-long learners. Come along for a ride into history that weaves in particular the events and spirits of a defiant young woman named Rosalind and a handsome wagon train leader named William. We believe you will be swept away like we were as the row of covered wagons heads out of Independence, Missouri on its way to land of promise the Willamette Valley across the rugged frontier in far away Oregon.

While on the trail during an Indian Attack William sees for himself the fiery spirit of the opinionated Rosalind who refuses to hide under the wagons with the rest of the women and children. Soon the independent woman finds herself in over her head after an incident taking care of business with skirts up and bloomers down. Things look bleak for the woman traveling alone until William happens along the scene and possible rape is avoided. An unexpected kiss leaves our heroine weak in the knees and in the strong arms of the wagon master.

I was struck by the calm demeanor of William and his ability to hold the wagon train together with just the right amount of retribution and then the event was considered over. As my husband said, he did not let the the pioneers interactions during the wagon train ruin their cohesiveness or their goal to navigate the Oregon Trail. Love and bottoms blossom and bounce painfully off the buckboards aboard the covered wagons. The mix of an historical migration with a stew of love and spankings make this book a must read.

In closing we highly recommend Love On the Oregon Trail as a frontier romance peppered with high spirits and a well-spanked hot bottom. This all leads to a cooler head as she sits on a sore bottom as they make their way by covered wagon to the wilds of the northwest.

What a compelling and engaging tale! Full of adventure and twists and romance and, of course, well-earned spankings along the way. I loved the historical details which made this a richer story, and the strong characters who made me want to both worry and cheer as they overcame the many obstacles along the way. The relationship between headstrong Rosalind and rugged William was well developed and drew me in as their love blossomed along the Oregon Trail. Author Abigail Armani has done it again!
