After completing her schooling in her native Australia, Prue talks her father into letting her travel to America to spend the summer on his younger brother's horse ranch in Oklahoma Territory. One day, out riding alone, she sees a ring of cottonwood trees in the distance and recalls her cousin Patricia telling her that inside the ring of trees is the most wonderful swimming hole ever. Prue decides to strip off her clothes and take a dip - but there is just one small problem - the water hole is on the Miller's side of the property line, and she and Patricia have been told not to venture onto the Miller's property, and to keep out of the way of Jed and Josh Miller in particular.

But Prue pays no heed, and enjoys the thrill of being naked in a place she isn't supposed to be - until the low voice of cowboy Josh Miller takes her by surprise, warning her to stay absolutely still. Seconds later a bullet whizzes past her head and Josh emerges from the bush to examine the body of a very large wolf. Prue pleads with Josh not to tell her uncle of her disobedience.
