Nineteen-year-old Cassie has run away from home. When her car breaks down off the Interstate in North Dakota, she is rescued by a tall, muscular guy in a white pickup truck. Introducing himself as Rick, he organises his buddy to come over with a tow truck to take Cassie's car to be repaired, and he also gives Cassie a ride into town. When the news is broken to her that her car engine needs a lot of work and is going to cost $1,500 she is devastated as she can't afford it - but Rick suggests she work as a waitress to help pay the repair bill, and even offers her a place to stay.
