Cowboy Hero is the story of ranch owner Travis, and Beth - the runaway he finds when he returns from a long cattle drive. She is badly beaten and injured, so Travis takes her home, gets her checked out by the doctor, and then resolves to be her protector. He knows quite early on in the relationship that she is the woman for him. After Beth recovers from her ordeal, her feisty nature becomes apparent and she earns herself a few spankings for disobedience and temper tantrums. Her story is revealed, and we learn that her deranged and cruel step father still pursues her and will stop at nothing to get what he wants.
